December 2011
Norjon have moved to NEW BIGGER PREMISES!.

Our new facility has more than doubled our footprint from 6000ft.² to 14,000ft.². This has given us plenty of room for new equipment on the manufacturing floor as well as new offices, entrance lobby, meeting room, inspection room, canteen, and factory toilets. The shop floor includes three new areas that have vastly improved our work flow: dedicated dispatch, raw materials store, and assembly. With everything our new space affords we are well positioned to handle our current workload as well as anticipated growth for the future.

Along with the new building we have invested in some new equipment as well. With the purchase of a new Hermle C40 5 Axis machine, this brings the total we have now to four. This machine has a lower spindle speed (10,000 rpm), more torque and high-pressure through spindle coolant, making it ideal for working with harder materials like stainless steel. It also works well with alloys like Titanium, inconel, and the like.

Our multi-tasking capabilities have been further enhanced with the addition of a Mazak Integrex 400i. The Integrex 400i is the next generation in multi-tasking from 2-axis machining to full 5-axis. It will comfortably turn 600mm diameter to a length of just over 1,000mm, with a fully-programmable steady and high pressure coolant ideal for gun drilling.

Rounding out our capital investments is our first CnC coordinate measurement machine; a DEA Global with PC-DMIS software. It comes with a motorised head and has a measurement area of X700mm / Y1000mm / Z660mm. This new inspection machine will allow increased QC flexibility and improve our ability to respond to customer requirements for full inspection reports.

To date Norjon Engineers has invested more than 650k in our new facility and equipment.

A major decision has been made to move to larger premises. This property is located about a ¼ of a mile from our current operating base.

This will give us more flexibility to take on assembly work which our customers are keen on us to offer. A much larger office with a private meeting room, new washrooms and kitchen/ rest room will be added.

Also a bigger inspection room will be built. We hope to move in by November this year.

Since the overwhelming success to the introduction of our two Hermle 5 Axis CnC machines, in 2007 a further purchase of a 3rd machine was made.

This time we went bigger by taking delivery of a Hermle C40U 5 Axis Machining Centre- 850mm x 700mm x 500mm 18000 rpm spindle speed.

Due to an increase in the work load on our Bridgeport VMc 1000 a decision was made to purchase another machine of the same capacity A  Mazak VMC Nexus 510C with a Kitagawa TMX250 4th Axis was chosen.

Having Mazak Lathes and how well they have performed made the decision easy, plus this model has the HEIDENHAIN iTNC 530 Control which all our CnC mills have.
